Husn Afroz Memorial Trust (HAMT) is a not-for-profit organization established in 2008 with the overarching vision of strengthening human development, with an initial focus on education in and around Khairpur Mir’s, Sindh, Pakistan. HAMT operates as a family trust, driven by a strong vision to empower underprivileged communities through a range of support activities.

Our Mission: HAMT aims to strengthen human development by ensuring accessible and quality education for underprivileged communities.

Our Vision: A future where children across different regions of Pakistan have the tools, resources, and support they need to achieve educational excellence.

The Trust focuses on addressing critical gaps in the public school system and has initiated multiple efforts to strengthen various aspects of quality education. In its initial phase (2008–2015), HAMT supported underprivileged families by providing scholarships for their children’s education. These children were eventually integrated into regular public schools.

Currently, HAMT supports public schools in the district under the Government of Sindh’s “Adopt-a-School” policy. Under this model, the schools remain the property of the Government of Sindh. The Sindh Education Foundation, an autonomous body of the Government, provides coordination, while the adopter (HAMT) undertakes a range of activities aimed at improving access to and the quality of education.

In 2013, HAMT adopted 6 public primary schools in Khairpur city. At the time of adoption, all six schools had deteriorated infrastructure and extremely low enrollment. Over the past 12 years, HAMT has facilitated the upgradation of 2 of these schools to high school level, tripled student enrollment, and continues to strengthen these schools through a dedicated institutional mechanism and a well-documented budget.

HAMT continues to support these 6 public schools through multiple interventions aimed at improving the overall learning environment. This includes the provision of missing components such as teachers, learning resources, furniture, fixtures, libraries, and library books. Committed to human resource development, HAMT is currently focused on strengthening learning outcomes in public schools through partnership-based models.
