A brief about Endowment Fund Trust, GC University Lahore
GC University Lahore is the only public university in Pakistan which has set an example by creating an Endowment Fund Trust and provided a successful mechanism to help the needy and deserving students for completion of their academic programs without any financial constraint.
For that matter, according to its Deed the Trust was established in 2003 and got itself registered. The Executive Committee, the functional / operative body of the Trust have been working for fund generation for the Trust for last so many years. It is heartening that former students, philanthropists, expatriates and different organizations / foundations like; LCCI, Allied Bank, Bank Al Habib, HBL Foundation, ZIC, EBM, PEP, Zohra and Z. Z. Ahmed Foundation, Infaq Foundation, SNGPL, Warid Telecom, Askari Cement, Viqarun Nisa and Feroz Khan Noon Trust and Babar Ali Foundation have joined this noble cause and provided generous financial help to the Trust. Thus the Trust have introduced perpetual Golden as well as Silver scholarships after the names of donors which will continue for ever. As far as Golden scholarship is concern, it can be initiated by a person or initiative with one time donation of worth Rupees One Million and will cover annual university fee and hostel expenses (approximately Rs100, 000) for one deserving students every year. Similarly, a Silver scholarship is initiated with Rs. 500,000/- which sponsors only annual university fee (approximately Rs 50,000) of a deserving student. Apart from these scholarship lump sum financial aid is also given keeping in view needs of a student. Thus every year, millions of rupees are distributed by the Trust among hundreds of deserving students of the university. While selecting the students for financial aid, preference is also given to orphans, disabled, minorities and broken family students to enable them to get education without any financial or psychological pressure. It is pertinent to mention that students are selected by the Selection Committee comprising GCU Vice Chancellor, Treasurer and Secretary Executive Committee. In year 2020-21 a sum of Rs. 21,333,200/- has been distributed to 734 deserving students.
It is worth mentioning that the Trust do not spend from the original donations, however, only earned profit on its investments is used to give financial aid to the deserving students.

Projects / Activities of Endowment Fund Trust, GC University Lahore
(1). Due to open merit policy of GC University Lahore, every year, a big number of students of marginalized families from across the country have been admitted but they are unable to pay their academic expenses. So the Trust intends to give financial aid to all such students to complete their academic program with peace of mind and excel in their life.
(2).To fund the developmental projects of GC University Lahore and sponsor the facilities for quality education.
(3). To sponsor deserving faculty members to study abroad for higher education.
