Brief Overview

SINA Health Systems Foundation is a Karachi-based nonprofit healthcare organization operating a network of 40 community clinics across underserved and low-income areas of the city. Founded in 1998, the organization has grown from a single clinic in Baldia into a citywide primary healthcare system, serving approximately 1.2 million patients annually.

The organization’s core work centers on primary healthcare delivery, including doctor-patient consultations, antenatal and postnatal care, immunization, diagnostics and laboratory testing, medication provision, nutritional support, and mental health services. SINA Health Systems Foundation also runs targeted health programs such as hepatitis screening and treatment, and works with partner organizations on maternal health, nutrition, and disease surveillance initiatives within the communities it serves.

Since transitioning from SINA Health, Education & Welfare Trust, the organization now operates as a licensed Section 42 Company regulated by Pakistan’s Securities and Exchange Commission (SECP). It is also certified by the Pakistan Centre for Philanthropy and holds ISO-9001 certification.

The organization aims to make quality, affordable primary healthcare accessible to populations who would otherwise face significant barriers to care, particularly women, children, and residents of Karachi’s informal settlements and low-income neighborhoods.

Impact Stories

Patient Pana Khatoon, age 75, was brought to the Moach Goth clinic on 12th June 2026, with complaints of severe backache radiating to her left leg and difficulty standing up from a sitting position; she could not walk without support. She was a known case of hypertension. After a detailed history and examination, she was diagnosed with sciatica and given treatment for pain management. After 3–4 visits, she gradually recovered and can now walk easily without support, while pain management continues to be provided at the clinic. Thanks to SINA for bringing back smiles.
